The Onion Man

I am the Onion Man
God placed me in the ground
to be born half buried,
half from the ground

I am the Onion Man
I can say my own name now
because it’s Fall
with Winter close at hand.

Harvest time
the moon begs me to stand
so I push hard to find my feet,
I push hard to breathe again.

This is my row
My soil, my ripe hands
So watch me walk
as I haunt this promised land.

FAQ's:

What is an Onion Man? Yes, it's different, really different. I know, but it does have a
specific reference.  The Onion Man is a dream character in a play I have written entitled,
The Onion Man.  For the purposes of this company, the Onion Man represents the
creative part in all of us that allows us to create, well, in layers.  When a playwright is
doing their job correctly, not only should you get a good, entertaining story but also there
should be something else - an idea, an emotion  - just below the surface that is ready to
emerge.  Depending on the play, the actors, directors, the technical crew, and the
audience, then that powerful creative force inside can potentially be revealed, examined
and explored.  We don’t always reach that place, but it is the goal.

Can I submit plays or screenplays to OMP? Yes, but please contact via email for
information or see
Submissions

Do you offer classes? Yes, see Classes.

When are auditions? April 2010. Keep an eye on www.atlantaperforms.biz
