Gregory Fitzgerald, Artistic Director

​Gregory has been with Onion Man Productions since 2012, as an actor, director and writer. He was one of OMP’s original Resident Artists before joining the staff in 2017 as the Program Development Coordinator and eventually Literary Manager where he worked with various playwrights in developing their work.
 
Gregory has appeared in over 30 productions with various theatres in the Atlanta area since 2005, including his performance as Ben in Kosher Lutherans, which earned him a Metropolitan Atlanta Theatre (MAT) Award nomination for best major supporting actor in 2012.  He’s also worked behind the scenes as a director, stage manager and tech on more than 20 productions, including Kudzu Playhouse’s 2007 production of Bermuda Avenue Triangle, which earned Gregory two MAT Award nominations for best director and sound design.  In addition, he has spent time working on both sides of the camera in television and film in various capacities, including directing, producing, editing, and acting since 1997.
 
Gregory is also an accomplished writer for both stage and screen, having had several pieces of his work produced over the past 20+ years, including several of his 10 minute plays as part of Onion Man’s Annual Summer Harvest shows.
 
A graduate of Central Washington University, Gregory studied video production and broadcast writing, earning his Bachelor of Arts in Video Communications in 1997.
